No comments appear on my Posts

I get emails saying someone has left a comment on my Post but when I check there i nothing there. I have been into Settings/Discussion and they are allowed, so what is amiss?

Regarding the specific email you’ve mentioned, it appears there are currently no comments on that post. Those notification emails get sent out immediately after the comment is published, but users still have the option to delete the comment. It would appear the user who left the comment deleted it in the time between when it was posted and when you checked for it on your blog.
With your current Discussion settings, the only reason a comment would be held for moderation is if it contains too many links. I suspect that is also the case here. You can adjust the number of links that would cause this in the setting called “Comment Moderation” here:

Thanks for that. I think there’s another problem with my site and that is that is’s getting confused with my other site. I would like the comments made on my Test Blog (the one I’ve started with Blog 101) to appear there but it seems they are being posted to my regular blog travelsineuropeandasia.workpress.com. Can we do anything about this? I don’t want to post Blog 101 stuff on my regular blog as this is me trying to undo badly learnt habit and get a new and better blog up. Any help you can offer will be appreciated. Eventually I want to buy my domain but I want to make absolutely sure I’ve ironed out all the bad things in my blog and I don’t feel I have yet.

No comments appear on mine either…probably because I haven’t posted in ages and have no followers though! ;)

Is there a specific comment to which you’re referring? Looking at all your comments on travelsineuropeandasia, and looking at all your comments on maristravels, it doesn’t appear there’s been confusion between the two.
Your two blogs, albeit controlled using the same username, really have no connection to each other. If a comment appears on travelsineuropeandasia.wordpress.com, it had to have been made through that site, and not through maristravels.wordpress.com.
Now, when you’re logged into WordPress.com, you may also be seeing comment notifications in your admin bar:
Those notifications will come from any of your blogs, because the admin bar is controlled by the user, not the blog. So even if you’re viewing travelsineuropeandasia at the time, you might see a notification about maristravels there.

Thanks for trying to clear this up. I just wish I understood more of what you’re trying to explain. I’ve got a block somewhere in my brain when it comes to tryng to comprehend blogging and wordpress in particular.
