No 'comments box' showing up on our daily prompt pingback posts???

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
Our blog (www.mumsthewordblog.com) is hosted by Bluehost using Jetpack using Nucleare Free Theme, we post daily using the Daily Prompt word & linking the post to the daily prompt area. None of our posts show a comments box for people to comment on our post. They have to physically go to our blog page to make a comment on the post there. Can you please advise if there is a plugin or widget that we can use to fix this? We have been told by bluehost & jetpack that wordpress have advised them that at the moment WordPress don’t accommodate for the comments box to show for hosted sites when doing a pingback post to the daily prompt site, but will allow this to happen at some point in the future. In the meantime, can you please advise us of something we can use to fix this problem, as we feel we are missing out on so many comments with the way it is now. Thanking you, Tracey & Lis

    Howdy Tracey & Lis!
The website you have http://www.mumsthewordblog.com is a WordPress ORG site
your best way to get help is

You will have to register a new account there, if you dont have one.

To know the difference between

    Also try this https://wordpress.org/search/comments+on+front+page/?forums=1
To see if you get any useful information to find ways for commenting on the front page and not only on the Post page.
You can try to look around there or in to forums there.

    Hi,
are you sure it’s a WordPress.org site? When I key in http://www.wordpress.com, it comes up with a reader page and our blog details are listed across the top of the page. It lists in the https address area ‘WordPress.com Automattic Inc.’ I believe we are a wordpress.com site and not a WordPress.org site. As mumsthewordblog1 , & as http://www.mumsthewordblog.com can you ask someone who can confirm this for us. We created our blog using Bluehost and we are using the Nucleare Free Theme. We do a daily post using the Daily Prompt word with a pingback back to the daily prompt page. On the daily prompt page or the WordPress.com reader page our post does not show a comments box below our story. We asked Blue host, Jetpack and Nucleare Free Theme about how we can get a comments box showing on our daily prompt word posts. They advised us that WordPress.com don’t have the option of a comments box for host sites showing up on the reader page at present, my question is, can we use something else in the meantime to fix this eg. a plugin or widget to fix this problem. We believe we are missing out on 100s of comments at the moment. Thank you for your time. Tracey and Lis from http://www.mumsthewordblog.com
