Hi, I have just created a blog and written my first post.
Post setting comments are enabled, settings > discussion > comments are enabled.
Is it because it’s a free hosted site?
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If I click on the post title I see the comment box at the bottom of the post. This is normal behaviour. If no one has yet posted a comment then there won’t be any comments displayed.

Thanks! I didn’t know that…. so would that mean a 1st time visitor would have to click on the post title to reveal the comments box? I notice that once it’s been clicked, the comments box always shows, even after refreshing.

ah, now I get it!
The site is set to display latest posts as homepage. So, even though I can see the entirety of the article, I am in actual fact looking at a preview. Clicking the post title takes me to the actual post, which of course displays the comments box.
Just trying to get to grips with how to set things up so my homepage only displays excerpts…

Now it gets weird…
So, I came to realize that some themes have excerpts on the homepage, others do not.
So installed a few different themes… none of which I’m particularly fond of.
The question is: how do I revert to the original theme that my site had?
I would have expected it to be twenty twenty three theme, but it’s not!
I may have even skipped the bit that said ‘pick a theme’, I’m not sure.
Damn, I quite liked the appearance of the site as it was… apart from the lack of excerpts.

Job done…
