No confirmation e-mail sent after clicking the Follow button.

Hello,
I have a problem with the Follow button on my blog page. Many people have clicked it and entered their e-mail addresses to subscribe to the blog, but they have not received any confirmation e-mails. No new followers appear in my stats. Please help.

Hi Kamil – Can you please ask those followers to check their spam/junk folders? If the confirmation isn’t there, can you please reply with a couple of example usernames or email addresses of people who’ve had this problem?

It seems that these confirmation e-mails are sent instantly in some cases while in others – with some delay. The people I was concerned about did finally receive them. Is it normal and I am just being impatient? :-)

It also seems that some of my subscribers receive e-mails instantly, but I receive the info on new followers only after some time (they are also included in stats after considerable time). Is it normal?

Information on new comments is sent to me instantly, but on new followers – with considerable delay.

You were right. In the case of some subscribers the confirmation e-mail lands in spam folders.

Hi Kamil – No problem. This all sounds normal to me. Some email clients have more aggressive filters than others and can spam our emails, or they might take awhile to come through. You can recommend that your followers whitelist emails from *@wordpress.com (all emails from the domain) and/or (email visible only to moderators and staff) addresses. That will likely help.

Ok, so from what you are saying I understand that it might take some time before I receive notification that someone has subscribed to my blog and before it is recognized in stats, right?

Hi Kamil – Once a follower has confirmed that they’re following you, it should show up in your follower list and count immediately, but they have to confirm the follow first. If they don’t get the email for awhile, that won’t happen. Also, if WordPress.com emails are being filtered by your email client, it might take awhile for you to get the email notifications that you have a new follower.
