no confirmation mail received

Hi, I have updated my email address, but have not received a confirmation email. How long does this usually take? The form I added to my website will not work without the proper email address, so it’s rather urgent. Thank you for letting me know!

    Hi there,

You should immediately receive a confirmation email.
Have you checked your spam folder?
Did you make sure you have used an email which is not associated with any other WordPress.com account? If so you would have to use an email which is not already registered with WordPress.com.

I have added a ‘modlook’ tag to this thread so that someone from staff can help you further.

Thanks! No it’s a new email address and I have only one wordpress account. I checked spam too, restarted my computer, but nothing.

  • Hi there,

What site are you working on? The account you’re using to post here is already verified, but also does not own any WordPress.com sites.

If you’re trying to verify your email for a plugin on a self-hosted WordPress site, we can’t help you here as we have no control over emails sent from your site. You’ll need to contact the developer of your form plugin for help with that.

    Hi Kokkieh,
Thank you for replying. This is my first website. I have installed WordPress, working from the wordpress dashboard and the form is made with a Divi module. I read online that if no emails are sent when testing the form, the issue is that you’ve used an email address that does not end with your domain name. I wish to change that email address (in wordpress settings) but I receive no email with a link to confirm changing the address. So now I am a bit lost…
    Thanks again for helping!

  • @reeniursem, can you send a link to your site so we can check its settings? On our servers, as long as your email address works and is the correct one on the account, it will work fine.

It sounds though like your site might not be hosted here with us, in which case you’ll want to contact your host or use the forums for self-managed WordPress installations: https://wordpress.org/support

Hi, the problem has been solved via the webhosting company! Thank you for your help & quick responses nonetheless.

  • You bet. For future help with this installation, you’ll want to head over to the correct forums:

    Cheers!
