No CSS in firefox 9.0.1
-
When trying to view my dashboard, or the wordpress.com site from my desktop PC using Firefox 9.0.1 the site takes a long time to load and when it does it cannot find a CSS to display, making the site impossible to use. If I clear the Cache then it loads for a few pages, then dissapears again. This also happens when I load safe mode (no addons). Strangely I have no issues when viewing the site from my macbook, using the same release of firefox.

You might try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies, following these instructions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/Please also make sure you’re running the latest version of your browser:
http://browsehappy.comIf this issue still occurs, could you try using a different browser such as Chrome?

Thanks for your reply. As in the original post clearing the cache only works for a couple of page loads, then I just get the same problem. I’m using Firefox 9.0.1. I’m not using chrome. Eating soup with a fork would be more productive.
I’ve read after doing some searching that it could be related to some “s surrounding the default charset in the php.ini file, but as it’s a wordpress.com hosted site I can’t access the file to check it.

Could you try visiting the following URLs, and let me know if they’re loading for you?

I’d like to rule-out a browser-specific issue.
Would you please try Chrome?

Strangely the site seems to have been loading fine the last couple of days but then today there is the same issue.
Doesn’t seem to be working in IE either, so could be something the PC is doing. Checked hosts file and everything looks fine. Any ideas?

Do you have any antivirus software active on your computer? Can you make sure that *.wordpress.com has been added to your list of trusted sites?
On your PC, are you using any extensions or add-ons on your browsers?
-
Only running AVG and as far as I’m aware it doesn’t have a trusted list. I tried disabling it and the site still won’t load.
I do have some addons, however I’ve tried in firefox safe mode and it still doesn’t work.

Okay, it may be helpful for you to send us a screenshot of how it’s loading. This guide explains how to do that and you can upload the photo to your Media Library:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/If you disable the add-ons, does that make any difference as well?

Okay, could you try loading these 3 URLs? They should all load text.

http://s1.wp.com/wp-content/themes/default/style.css?m=1249392855g&3

Those sites didn’t load at first, but now I have the text displayed.
I’ve noticed that my site seems to hang when loading either s2.wordpress.com or en.gravatar.com
