No dashboard bar etc

  When I log in there’s no bluebar at the top of the screen. I can only get into admin by typing the address but when I want to write a new post it’s all in “code”. There’s no “visual” option.

  The bluebar is back but there’s still the problem of new posts appearing only in code.

  When you go to write a new post, do you see the tabs for Visual and Code? Try going to Dashboard > Users > Your Profile and see if the use visual rich editor when writing box is checked. It’s possible it might have been turned off somehow. Otherwise, have you tried a different browser to see if the visual editor is missing there as well?

  There were no tabs so I did as you suggested and yes, for some reason the “use visual rich editor when writing” box had been unchecked. Not by me. It’s working now, thanks.

  This is just to let you know that sometimes the “use visual rich text editor” mysteriously becomes unchecked. So when bloggers can’t see the editor one of the first things we ask them to check is the setting on the Your Profile page.
