No DNS editor to add email on Domain page
-
Hello,
According to https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/ and https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-forwarding/ I should have the option to edit name servers and DNS. Unfortunately, the only option available is email forwarding and G-suite. I have a business plan, and domain (and email) is registered with GoDaddy.
Any advice would be useful, thank you!

Hello @gusmackay1,
I wanted to make sure I understand clearly – your domain name and email are both registered GoDaddy? You have already mapped/pointed your WordPress.com website to your GoDaddy domain.
Now, you’re trying to add your email from GoDaddy, too?
Please try the instructions from this link.
Regards,

Hello Rose,
Yes, both are with GoDaddy. The link you provide has a different screen than I see. I only have the option to email forward or sign up for g-suite, no DNS link.
-
You don’t see this option – https://i.imgur.com/9RjqmWE.png
Then this, after clicking on “Name Servers and DNS” – https://i.imgur.com/hEeNsam.png
If not, please make sure that you have followed the following:
1. Domain Mapping – instructions from this link.
2. Edit Custom DNS – instructions from this link.**I am thinking you might have missed the step #2.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,

Hey Rose, thanks for your help.
1. this was already complete
2. I think I mostly figured this out, with one exception. In your original link (https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/add-godaddy-email/) it says to set the CNAME with this convention:CNAME email email.secureserver.net
CNAME mail pop.secureserver.netWhen I go to enter CNAME I have the following options
Name (subdomain)
Alias ofWould the name be ’email.secureserver.net’, and ‘pop.secureserver.net’ as two separate CNAME entries?
-
Hello @gusmackay1,
Yes, they’re separate CNAME entries. It should be like this:
(1)
CNAME
Name
emailyourdomain.com
Alias of
email.secureserver.net(2)
CNAME
Name
mailyourdomain.com
Alias of
pop.secureserver.netLet me know how it goes.

I forgot to put the (.) between the name and your subdomain, but am sure you know where you suppose to enter the names “email” and “mail.”

Hi there,
It looks like Rose already gave you all the information you need, but just to confirm, this is for your thefarmplan.com domain, correct? I’m just asking as I currently see email forwarding set up on that domain, and not DNS records for hosted email from GoDaddy.
Please let us know if you still need help with this.
I also want to point out that as you have a Premium Plan on this site and a Business Plan on your other site, you can get help in real time via live chat via the support contact form.
