No e-mail to admin when contributor asks for revision of a post
-
I’m admin of a blog, but I don’t get an e-mail-notice, when contributors press the button for “revision” of a post they want to publish. Why is this function available for comments, but not for posts? And how can I manage to get informed by mail?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Will you please confirm what the URL of the blog you refer to is?
Will you also provide both contributor’s usernames please?
I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting. -
The URL is http://www.unserkitty.wordpress.com, the contributor’s username is sarahbloggt. Obviously the problem occured before with other contributors as well, but I noticed only now.

Thanks for the added information. Staff have a considerable backlog so please be patient while waiting.

Hi there,
Unfortunately, email notifications for post revisions isn’t currently supported. We only send out notices for activities on your blog such as:
- Likes received on your posts
- Comments posted on your blog
- Comments held for moderation
- New blog Follows from WordPress.com users

A workaround for this is to have your contributor inform you of any revisions they make. As administrator, you have the ability view and restore revisions in the Revisions screen found in the post editor:

Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks!

Hi there,
thank you for your answer. However, I’m really unhappy that it is impossible to get e-mail-notifications when contributors turn in posts for revision. This should be changed asap.
At least, WordPress should mention this lack of information on the page with the role descriptions, and tell contributors to send an e-mail to the adminstrator when they are finished with their post. As it is now, contributors and administrators both expect that posts are handled like comments (immediate e-mail-notification to admin = immediate release).I hope WordPress (which really is a wonderful blogging platform) will improve its services soon.

Hi Kitty!
I would agree that an email notification would prove useful especially when working with multiple users. Certainly this could be something we could improve on. Thanks for making this suggestion! I’ll see to it that the support page is updated as well. Cheers!
