No Edit Field

  The last few days (since I updated Firefox) I haven’t had a the post field, it shows up while the page is loading and then it just disappears on me. Any clues/solutions to help me? Thanks in advance.

  Firefox 2.0.0.5
  Mac OS X 10.4.10 G4 PPC

  Very strange. No-one else has reported this. Does refreshing the page do anything? Or the usual “Clear cache, forced reload”? Those are the default it-might-work fixes. Let us know.

  Also, what are you using for your virus scanner? McAfee sometimes causes problems.

  ok. I’ll try those “it-might-work” fixes in just a moment but to answer your other question, no I am not using a virus scanner.

  UPDATE: Force reload and clear cache does not do the trick :(

  If you are using the Adblock extension in Firefox, open it,
  click Preferences, click Exception Rules and add this as a filter:
  @@|http://*.wordpress.com

  Well I already had a filter for just my page, and had Adblock disabled totally in an attempt to fix this but that didn’t work either. And I’ve now added the filter you suggested but that didn’t work even after restarting Firefox completely.

  Meanwhile, do send an email to Support at wordpress dot com, as if you’re the first identifier of an incompatability with the latest FF, staff will want to know ASAP.

  Let us know if that works. Usually Safari has issues with WordPress, but in this case it just might be the workaround that lets you keep blogging.

  yeah safari does have issues with WordPress but it’s not so bad. I sent the email to support as suggested and still haven’t gotten an answer. Trust me this will be the first place I will post a fix if I find one.
  Also, last night I tried Firefox in safe mode to eliminate any of my plug-ins and it still exhibits the same behavior, it’s really weird.

  I feel REALLY dumb, I had my user agent on Firefox set to Googlebot and that’s apparently what was messing up my blog and as I found out later gmail. So the issue has been resolved, it’s not the Firefox update necessarily, that just exposed the problem. I reset that option and everything works perfectly now, thanks everyone for their help.
