No Edit Media Gallery Button

  I’m trying to edit media galleries on my blog (more than one page/post) and for some reason the “Edit Gallery” button does not pop up when I click in the editor.

  Please help!

  Hello there!

  I am now able to click on the icon to open your gallery editor. Could you give it another try? First, clear your browser’s cache using the link below:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache

  Now, open your latest post in the Post Editor. In the Visual Tab, click once on the gallery — either on an image, or in the white space in between. The pencil (edit) icon should appear in the left-hand corner.

  Unfortunately, it’s still not working :( I’ve tried in both Chrome and Explorer :(

  Ok. We’ll get to the bottom of this!

  If possible, send me a screenshot, so I can better understand the issue. It’ll help me to see what you’re viewing on your screen. You can simply upload the screenshot to your Media Library, like any other image, and I’ll be able to access it from there. Let me know when there’s something I should take a look at. If you are unable to upload media, please let me know and I’ll give you an alternate solution.

  Hi there,

  Thanks so much for your help. I’m running Windows 8. I’ve uploaded the screenshot. To take this screenshot, I tried clicking both on a picture and in the white space of a post I was trying to edit and was not able to get the little edit pencil to show up :(

  Ok, thank you for uploading that screenshot.

  I’d like you to try the following tests:

  1. Try the exact same action in another browser. I recommend Google Chrome or Mozilla’s Firefox. Please let me know if those other browsers give you different results.
  2. Next, I’d like you to make sure that your current browser (IE) is not running any add-ons or extensions that are interfering with your editing functions. Click the link below, and then select “To turn add-ons on or off in Internet Explorer” and follow their instructions to disable the add-ons:

     Once you’ve disabled the add-ons, refresh your site’s Dashboard, and attempt the editing function again.
