No email notification of Likes
-
For as long as I can remember (years!), I’ve had email notification of Likes enabled in my settings. And I’ve never gotten a single one. I get email notifications of all comments, but never any for Likes.
A screen shot of the Likes setting, right in the middle of the page, is at https://piedtype.com/screen-shot-2018-07-08-at-12-16-29-pm/
Yes, I’m still using the old administrator screen. I much prefer it.
(Incidentally, there’s still no place on this page, where I’m typing, to indicate that I want to follow or subscribe to this thread.)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

P.S. The “subscribe to” and “Notify me” options didn’t show up until after I posted my question. Seems like they ought to be on the submission screen (like they once were).

Hi @windwhistle,
I checked our logs, and we’re definitely not sending emails, no.
You do have that setting enabled in your post discussion settings, but it appears in your account notification settings you have that setting disabled, and it might be that the account setting is overriding the site setting.
Please go to https://wordpress.com/me/notifications and click on your piedtype site, and check the box for emails next to post likes there. Remember to save.
Let us know once you’ve done that so we can try liking a post and see if it generates an email then.

That appears to have done the trick – I just liked one of your posts, and our logs now show an email went out.
I’d expect this account setting to be in sync with the site settings, so I’ll dig into this some more to make sure this isn’t a thus far undiscovered bug.
