No Email to Confirm Deletion

I’ve tried at least ten times with two email address, but I haven’t received an email to confirm deletion of my blog. It isn’t lost in a spam box. If you have the authority, delete it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That sure sounds frustrating. I’m sorry but we Volunteers cannot do that. Staff can and your can contact them on Monday so they take care of this for you.

My searches concerning this issue led to multiple posts here on the WordPress forums. This problem obviously isn’t unique to me. Most of the posts I read included someone from WordPress offering to delete the account for the initial poster. My intention was to get a similar response.

I can say with assurance as I have been answering questions on this forum for over 5 1/2 years that we Volunteers do not have backend access to blogs. The situation at present is that Staff have posted this notice:
Support is closed over the weekend. It will reopen on Monday, December 12th. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

@timethief – I can say, with assurance, that my instruction to delete my account included a condition—one that you clearly do not meet. I never expected a volunteer, regardless of experience, to delete my account. And for the sake of clarity, my usage of “you” was a reference to the reader; not you specifically.

I’m glad to hear that and sorry you have been unable to delete the blog. You can delete all the blogs contents yourself. However, if they have been indexed then they will remain in Google’s cache until the cache is cleared, usually every 3 – 6 months.

Check the email account – should be at Dashboard >> Users and see what the email is for you – you say you “tried two email addresses” – WordPress.COM only recognizes the email that is attached to the Admin that created a blog.

@auxclass – I was probably marking this post as “resolved” as you were responding. I reviewed my email settings to discover that the changed and confirmed email address had been reverted. After trying three more times to update the address again, I was successful. Apparently, that was the problem.
