No follow links from Blog header

  • Unknown's avatar

When I post a comment on someones blog the link to my website is automatically labeled as “Nofollow”. Can this be altered and does the same apply for links in the body of the comment.
How can I modify (if possible) my Blog to “follow” links from the header of the comments ( when I say header I am referring to the area where i insert my name email and website)

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The question above pertains of course to WordPress Blogs, so when I asked about “someones blog” I was referring to other WordPress blogs only. I am curious about SEO link building for my sites and also how post on my blog reciprocate.

    Hi Charles,

All blog links that the author of the blog does not control (like comment links) are “nofollow” links. This is mainly to prevent spammers. Currently, this cannot be changed through the WordPress.com Dashboard. Links within your content should not be “nofollow” links.

Let me know if you need anything else!

    Thanks.
Just one clarification…the links in my own blog are “follow” but what about the ones I place in the “body” of a comment I place on a blog I don’t own?
I assume that’s also “nofollow” but wanted to be certain.
Finally, you said “currently” – does that mean there is some discussion of making this a user defined feature/attribute?
Thanks very much for your response.

    Hey Charles,

You are correct; the links you place within the body of a comment will also be “nofollow” as well. As for the “currently” remark, there isn’t talk of changing it at the moment although it’s always a possibility!
