No free domain option

  Hi all,

  I deleted my old blog to start up a fresh new website but when I go to add a site it isn’t giving me an option to use the .wordpress.com free domain.

  I have no websites at the moment and wanted to use a free domain before buying a proper domain so I could test out wordpress for website hosting to see if I like it.

  Can someone help please.

  Deleting a site means that address won’t be available in the future:

  Delete a Website

  If let me know which address you want to use, I can check whether it is possible to reverse the deletion and restore the site — we can do so for the first 30 days.

  The address was jamiewindsor.wordpress.com

  Even if I put in another web address it doesn’t give me the option of the free wordpress domain so I’m not quite sure what’s going on.

  When you’re on the page of the site creation process where you give a keyword or site name, the two very top suggested sites (the two ones highlighted in boxes at the top) are generally going to be paid domains like .blog or .com, but the first domain in the list below those will always be a free .wordpress.com domain.
  
  You may have to play around a bit with the name or keyword(s) you use in order to see a free address that you like.

  I know this but there is no free domain name option any more it just shows the paid ones for some reason.

  I don’t have an active site already so I’m not using my 1 free domain
