No Google Calendar embed?
-
I am trying to embed a google calendar in either the sidebar or a separate page, and neither is working. In the sidebar I’m using a text box and definitely making the embedded calendar small enough to fit. When I put in the embed code and click save it changes the embed code. I researched it and it seems like it’s impossible: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/embedding-google-calendar-2?replies=32
In the forums people were pointing to this as a workaround (http://helensnerdyblog.wordpress.com/2007/11/27/how-to-add-a-google-calendar-to-your-wordpresscom-blog-using-the-rss-widget/).
I’m sorry, but this basically requires an engineering degree to use. I consider myself relatively technically proficient, so if I’m alienated, 95% of people are alienated. I don’t see why you wouldn’t provide a relatively simple way to embed a google cal.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That response seems a little thin-skinned since it was your link he referred to. To the original poster, sorry, it is a bit confusing but if you follow her link or do another Google search, you might find an easier way. And yes, it would be nice if WordPress made a simple calendar widget that you could edit. Alas they have not yet.

Google Calendars can be embedded in a wordpress.com blog.
See an example Google Calendar embed in wordpress.com.The how-to is coming soon. I do believe it’s an easier method and it embeds the real Google Calendar with all interactivity.

I just attempted to do the Google Calendar embed, but it appears that it no longer works because the tag cloud generator will no longer allow you to use a form with some spaces left blank.

Hi raincoaster,
It works alright.
Just shorten the frame url using bit.ly or a similar url shortening service before putting it into Tagul. That way you won’t face the problem. -
But it won’t let me send it through without a Title, etc, etc. Every line has to be filled out now.

Every line has to be filled out now.I don’t understand what you mean by that.
I don’t see any “Title” field in the tag cloud creation tool. Can you take a screenshot?I have just embedded a Google Search Engine in a test post – the embed was created freshly at Tagul and I faced zero problems. If you follow all the steps in my tutorial properly I believe you won’t face any problem.
