no google feed

heeeeeelp! We cannot access our site via google (neither can anyone else!) I deleted our old blog (journey from madness) and am having trouble with our new one. One of our new posts shows up on google (the eighth deadly sin: psychiatry) but if someone clicks on the link, the message that comes up at wordpress is that we have deleted our blog (even our new one.)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This blog has not been dleted http://hellhathnofurypsychiatricsurvivordiatribe.wordpress.com/

When you delete a blog and the content has been indexed by search engines you have broken every link and Google clears their caches only every 3 – 6 months. That means when any person clicks on the broken links anywhere on the internet they will get a 404 (page not found). That’s why the site redirect upgrade exists. http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/ If your had paid for it then this would not have happened. It will now take about 3 – 4 months time for your content to be re-indexed and outrank the original broken links in Google SERPs (search engine page results).

    Thanks for the information.

Thanks for not shooting the messenger.

I see people changing blog URLs every day and not comprehending what’s stated here:

    7. The final option presented on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

P.S. The reason I posted that ^ is so when people use the forum searchbox (ha!) they will be forewarned.

The SEO implications really should be explained there. Every day we see people flippantly changing, then hoping to change back when they see their hits drop, then realizing they can’t.
