no images in bold news slider

I have the bold news theme, I have also asked this question over at the premium themes forum and still have not gotten an answer so I’ll ask my question here anyway.
1. I’m using a featured picture slider; it works but no image displays I get the “?” and “No image” yet I selected the image and the image is in the article. All my images are brought from an external source, is that a problem?
2. I’d like to remove all but the article title and image, would this have to be modified in the CSS?
3. I want to change it so that instead of using a tag to mark featured articles/images is there a way to use a category? I don’t want to use tags because I don’t want it to appear in the tag cloud.

I’m sorry but your theme is a premium theme and we Volunteers answering questions on this peer support forum have no knowledge of how they are designed to operate. When you purchased your premium theme what came with that purchase was support directly from the theme designer in the Premium Theme Support Forum. There is a link for the specific Premium Theme support forum under Appearance -> Themes in your blog’s Dashboard
1. Externally hosted image are not reliable adn WordPress.com blogs have lots of space for media and images. Free WordPress.com blogs come with 3000 megabytes (~3 GBs) of space for storing uploaded files and images. Uploading the images into your blog ie. onto WordPress.com servers is the way to go but do optimize them, size them to the correct dimensions required by the theme, and then upload them > http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/
2. & 3. You cannot edit how the theme and featured images operate. We cannot edit templates and theme. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/

You’re welcome. From what I have observed you posting in these forums I’m inclined to think you would be better served by hiring a web host and setting up a self hosted WordPress.org install.
