No Incoming Links (when I know I have them)
-
Hey,
I know for a fact that there are some websites and other blogs that have links to my blog. Yet when I go into my dashboard there is nothing listed under “incoming links”. Does anyone know why this is?
For what it’s worth my blog is fairly new (or rather I have only recently begun posting a lot in it) and any links made to it have probably only been made in the past week or so. Does it take longer than that to appear on my dashboard?
Thanks,
Roy

No, they should show immediately. It’s Google Blogsearch that’s providing that list, and they are far from flawless. You may want to manually look at another service like Technorati.com or http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/

I just tried opensiteexplorer and it returned no results and this error message:
No Data Available for this URL
Although our index is large, there are a number of reasons why we may not have data for the page you’ve requested. These can include:
Recency of Page Creation:
Linkscape crawls the web constantly, but we update the index only once every 30-40 days. Thus, pages and links created since the last index update won’t be available until we’ve seen them. A typical timeline for getting a page/site included in Linkscape is 45-60 days, sometimes less for very important or well-linked-to pages. That would explain why they may not be showing, right?

Excuse my ignorance but how do I find incoming links via technorati? I went to the website and did a quick google search but was unable to find an answer.
Thanks :)
