No index

Hello! Though my site is live for over one month Google has not indexed it yet. At search console I get ‘status:excluded’. I have check everything at ->settings ->reading and my site is set to ‘public’ and the option ‘discourage search engines…’ isn’t clicked. What do you think it goes wrong?

Hi there,
This is normal :)
One months is still pretty short for a site to get indexed – this typically takes closer to eight-to-twelve weeks, and it also depends very much on how regularly you publish new content (posts) on your site.
Looking at your site, I see you only have four posts so far, with nothing new published since 4 October. Search engines give preference to dynamic content like posts over static/permanent content like pages, and we also ping search engines each time you publish a new post; we don’t do that when you publish a static page.
So perhaps you could consider adding a blog/news section to your site where you can post regular updates – doing that will definitely affect how quickly your site gets indexed.
If you don’t do that, and just stick with pages, the site will still get indexed, but it will likely take a little longer, and it will probably not rank as high in search results.
Something else you can do that will also help is to verify your site with Google Search Console. We have details on doing that here:

Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi,
Thank You for your reply :)
Yes, I’m aware of these things. Also, I have verify my site with Google Search Console and I have provide a sitemap too.
The thing is that after Live URL Check at Google Search Console, it gives me as result “STATUS: EXCLUDED” and it’s mentioned that this is propably an instruction from the site to not be indexed for some reason.
And this is my question:
Though I have check that all WordPress functions are correct, my site is public and I haven’t click the “discourage search engines from index your site” box , why is my site sending this “no index” information to search engines?
I hope my problem is clearly explained to you and help my find the way to fix this.
Thanks once again for your time

Thanks for the additional info!
Firstly, I’ve taken a look at your site, and I don’t see anything wrong with how it is displayed and there seems to be nothing that is impeding the ability of search engines to index the site.
Can you take a screenshot of what you are seeing in search console for excluded pages? Please be sure to include a screenshot of the entire search console interface on that page as it can add important context.
Also I did not see you mention it, but can you also copy and paste the URL for a few pages Goggle is showing as excluded? It will help if we can visit the page directly and examine the source code, thanks!

Oops, I forgot to add that screenshots can’t be uploaded directly to the forums. To share a screenshot with us, you can upload it to the Media Library on your site, and then copy the image URL. You can see a video of how to do this here: https://d.pr/v/Fcnerp
Once you have the image URL just paste it into your reply and we will be able to see your screenshot, thanks!

Hello and thanks once again for your reply,
Here are some links to screenshots from Google Search Console. The only thing s that I can’t change the console’s language to English. I am using Safari. The language is Greek, but I hope you’ll understand. I’ll do some translation.
Screenshots from the coverage section.
The “Εντοπίστηκε – μη ευρετηριασμενες προς το παρών” means “Found – not indexed for now”. And underneath of that “Κατάσταση: Εξαιρείται” means “Status: Excluded”. The grey bars are the number of pages that are excluded.By clicking the URL underneath, I get the message: excluded by robots.txt
Here is the robots.txt tester screenshot
Hope these will help and see what’s going on
Thank You

Hello there,
It’s most likely Google had an issue with indexing the site, to which there can be many reasons, reasons that are usually beyond our control.
To re-assure you, I can see the site and the pages are indexable and the sitemap is generated with the above URL here: https://sitecorewithraman.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml
Google will need to re-crawl and re-index the site and will do this at it’s own schedule.
You can fetch as Google within the console, but it’s recommended this only should only be done once: https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2011/08/submit-urls-to-google-with-fetch-as
I hope this helps.

Hello!
So, I’ll wait and see what’s going to happen.
The latest update is that now 2 URL’s are indexed but the rest of them not.
Thanks everyone for your time.
Have a nice day
