"No Index" a WP blog that has been deleted
-
Hi everyone,
I set up a test WP blog for a site, but deleted it. The problem is it is still being ranked by Google, not a massive problem, but the meta description being displayed by google has incorrect information.
I know it’s possible to set up a “no index” option on a live WP blog/site, but can the same be done for a site you have deleted?Cheers
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Google works as Google does. If your site was indexed by search engines, then it will take some time before they re-troll your site to realize that it has been deleted. I’m not sure how long it will take for G to take it down from search, but perhaps another volunteer will chime in with a more precise answer.
In future, I’d suggest setting up test sites as private to start with. Once a site is public, then whatever is there can be put on search engines. I’ve occasionally put a private test blog to public in order to test a question and later found that Google had slipped in to index it in less than an hour!! People don’t actually see the search results unless they click on the cached version. At least not on Google. Yahoo and Bing, they may well have different tactics.

I could be mistaken if it comes to a site which has bee public for a longer period of time?

You could try submitting a removal request to Google, but there’s no guarantee it will work. I also read somewhere your blog needs to be verified in Webmaster tools to do this, but I can’t find that right now so I could be imagining things: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals
Otherwise, I’ve seen @timethief mention it can take up to six weeks for a site to disappear from Google’s index.
