No longer can edit a post 'Date' or 'Draft' status…Please Help

  I used to be able to organize my posts by using the ‘edit’ feature in the ‘Publish’ section of the post. Lately that no longer works ! When I try to edit a ‘date’ or ‘publish’ status, the screen does not respond !
  Can someone clue me in on what to do ? ? I have read the online ‘help’ and it suggests that the features still should work !

  I have Safari version 4.0.4 on a Mac with OS X version 10.5.8
