No longer have access to an old account
-
As part of a university project, I had to conduct interviews and include a write-up about the individuals’ experiences. It has been over 8 years since then and I had one of the interviewees reach out to me and request that I remove the article about them. However, I made the wordpress account with my university-provided email and can no longer access the university email. I have tried filling out an account recovery form but I do not have access to any of the information they are requesting. What are my options? Can I get the article removed even without access to my old account?

Hi there,
The site
muslimathletesinamerica.wordpress.comis tied to a different account than your current one, so you would need access to the original account to remove content yourself.Your best option is to contact your university and ask about regaining access to your old .edu email. Many schools maintain alumni email access or can set up temporary forwarding; once you can receive email at that address, you can do a standard password reset on the old account and remove the article from there.
If that is not possible, the individual who wants the content removed can submit a request on their own behalf through our private content removal process:

Let us know how it goes.
