No longer have access to old phone number

I want to cancel akismet. But it requires me to log in to wordpress. But I cannot do so on my main account as the old phone number I had set up for 2FA is no longer in my possession. The recovery system does not work because to my knowledge I do not have a wordpress.com based site (or any site these days). But I had the transaction ID, but without a site the form rejects the attempt. I need to regain access to the old account and I need someone to help. So far this has been pretty frustrating as there is no way to talk to an actual person to help me with this that I have found. Everything seems to require you to log in which I CANNOT. I had to create this account just to even post here. Please advise how I can get this rectified.

That’s the moment you must use one of the backup codes you got when you set up 2FA and you were supposed to store on a safe place.

Yes, and after I typed the above I checked my old computer and thank god they were there. From 2015! I am back in my account.
