no longer have access to WordPress dashboard
-
Hi, I have a website that I’ve been working on for the past year. Today when I logged into WordPress it’s now saying I no longer have a website and I no longer see my dashboard. I’m not sure what happened. Also when I usually type my website into my browser, it gives me the WordPress dashboard on top which makes it easy for me to edit my page and this has also disappeared. Please help!

Hi there,
I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing with your WordPress site. It sounds very frustrating. However, it appears that your website is not currently hosted through WordPress.com’s managed hosting, but rather, it is being hosted through a separate provider and using the open-source version of the WordPress software.
Our managed hosting at WordPress.com offers many benefits, and you can learn more about them on our page here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/
Unfortunately, this means that our ability to assist is somewhat limited. We can only conduct investigations or help solve issues on sites that are hosted directly through WordPress.com. For sites like yours, which use the free, open-source version of WordPress through another host, we often cannot examine the backend structure or perform some actions necessary for direct support.
The Move to WordPress.com plugin allows you to start migrating a self-hosted WordPress site to WordPress.com directly from the self-hosted site. Prerequisites The Move to WordPress.com plugin installed on your self-hosted WordPress site. All incompatible plugins deactivated on the self-hosted site. ✅ There is no need to create a site on WordPress.com before you get starHowever, I like to mention that we do have an easy-to-use migration plugin if you would ever like to move your WordPress site over to our hosting. It’s called “Move to WordPress.com”, and the link above can give you more details about it.
For your current issue, though, your best bet for assistance will be to reach out to the open-source community support forums for WordPress. They will have more knowledge in dealing with issues related to the version of WordPress that your host is using for your website. Here is the link to the “How-To and Troubleshooting” forum, which seems most relevant to your issue: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/
I hope this information proves helpful for you, and you get the assistance you need to resolve your website issue through the open-source community forum or consider moving to our managed hosting.
Let us know if you need further assistance or if you have any questions.
