No longer publicizes to Facebook

  Hello, I update my WordPress blog weekly. I have it set to automatically publicize to my Facebook page. For months it worked great. For the last 4 weeks or so, my published blog post does not appear on my FB page. I don’t recall making any changes on WordPress or FB. I don’t know what has happened to make it stop sharing to FB. Any ideas what is going on?

  Hi there!

  Can you try these steps to reconnect your Facebook Publicize connection?

  The full reconnect procedure is detailed at http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-facebook – make sure you do step 3 (removing the FB app), which is probably the most important step.

  Let me know if that helps! Let me know if you have any questions or if that doesn’t work.

  I was so hoping your idea would work. I followed the steps as closely as possible. I then edited my last post, “updated”, but after waiting overnight, it does not appear on my FB timeline.

  Do you, or anyone, have any other ideas?

  I just went to your dashboard to verify your Publicize settings under Settings -> Sharing and I do not see an active connection to Facebook.

  In order for your posts to be published to Facebook automatically, there needs to be an active Publicize connection enabled under Settings -> Sharing.

  I then edited my last post, “updated”, but after waiting overnight, it does not appear on my FB timeline.

  Publicize only works on newly published posts – editing an already published post will not trigger Publicize to share your post to Facebook (or other shared social networks). Otherwise, every edit to every post would show up on Facebook!

  SUCCESS! I must say I was surprised when I went to Settings/Sharing and saw no FB connection. I can’t imagine I would have left it like that; but who knows. I suspect my problem yesterday was expecting an Edited post to go to FB; didn’t know that. Today I created a new post and confirmed it on FB.
