no longer showing up in google searches properly? Self hosted wordpresss account

Basically, around 8 months ago I set up a wordpress blog (I am NOT skilled in webdesign/coding/anything like that) and blogged a few times before forgetting my blog existed. Logged in randomly to notice I was still getting around 10 hits a day (on about 6 blogs mind you!) and decided to revive the blog and crack on a bit more seriously.
Bought the domain, and upgraded to WordPress.org (? .com?)
I have now been blogging more consistently, and with a half decent theme and imo better content… however, I keep looking at the stats, and it’s rubbish!

I D/L the google analytics and webmaster tools, but I’m not really sure what I’m doing… What IS clear is that I’m getting NO traffic through google. I have added a few SEO plugins, which clearly aren’t doing anything.

And I don’t have a clue why! I was getting more traffic before, when it was wordpress hosted…. is the domain name thing just a scam? Or have I royally broken my blog forever?

What’s really crap, is when I google my domain name without the www, I come in on Page FOUR!? When I was using the wordpress host, It was on the first page. So frustrating. My blog is gathering dust! :(

If someone can point me in the right direction to fix this, or give me any insight, I’d be super grateful!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your blog is a wordpress.ORG self-hosted one, so you need to go to http://wordpress.ORG/support for assistance, as this is the wordpress.COM support forum.

When you change the domain name you start all over from zero – it takes a while for search engines to index a new name – you can mitigate things a bit if you did not delete the old WordPress.COM blog – you can buy the site redirect upgrade to send traffic to your new name
