No matter what I do…

… my intended blog post will not “stick” to the top of my blog. I have researched this thoroughly. I have checked all the boxes. I have indicated in the “publish” box that I intend for my post (from 2014) to “stick” to the top of my blog. I cannot and will not change the date of my original post to achieve this function. I believe this function should be possible, based on the instructions I have received and followed, BUT. STILL. NOTHING.
Please kindly advise.
Thank you,

Hi there, can you give us the link to the post from 2014 you want to stick to the top of your blog posts? Thanks.

This is the link to the post I am trying to make sticky. Again, following all established guidelines and instructions has NOT worked. Please kindly advise.

Hello again, because you have set your site’s front page to a static page (your About page) and your blog page is a category page https://carolinemcooper.com/category/blog/ rather than the standard Posts page where all posts appear, I have a feeling that this might be the reason a sticky post doesn’t work as advertised, but let me tag this for Staff input as well.
Thanks for your patience while they get back to you.

Thanks for this insight. I’d like for my landing page to indeed remain static, but I’d like for this one blog post to remain at the top of my blog category page. Is this possible and, if so, how? If not, why not?
Thanks again,

Hi there,
WordPress.com blogs display posts in reverse chronological order on the home page with the latest post at the top. As @justjennifer mentioned, your about page is set up as a static page and you have your blog post page (where you would see the sticky post) disabled.
Rather, you have set your blog as one of your category pages, and as it states in our support page, it is not possible to sticky a site page, only a blog post page:
You will either have to enable your post page to see your sticky post or update the date to the most recent post date in order for a post to show at the top of a category page.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
