No matter what theme I install, it turn out to be a blog theme with ‘posts’ layout,
    Why is that

  • I don’t see any WordPress.com sites under your account here.

What is the URL of the site with the problem?

  • Hi there,

The site earnmoretraffic.com appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on Hostgator Web Hosting, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.

    You can confirm here: https://gwhois.org/earnmoretraffic.com+dns

To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and Hostgator also happens to offer WordPress sites, but they use a different version of the platform than what we use here. Because of this we are not able to help with your issue as it lies outside of our system. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.

You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

You may also wish to contact your host’s support team for more assistance.

Hope that points you in the right direction!

    Thank you for your response.

Can you please confirm whether it would have been the same scenario, If have had hosted site on wordoress instead hostgator.

I believe, it is some sort of setting which I need to change, coz the website seems to have set up as a blog.
please help instead pointing to others

  • Whether or not your site presents as a blog or a more traditional page-based website doesn’t depend on your theme. Activating a theme just enabled the design – it doesn’t in any way change the way the underlying site is configured.

If you don’t want the front page to display blog posts, you can set a static page as the front page instead. You’ll find the option to do this in the Customizer with the majority of WordPress themes.

Some themes override this setting and replaces it with their own options, but those tend to be premium themes that are more accurately described as theme/site-builder hybrids. If you’re using any regular WordPress theme, the process at the link above should work for you.
