no media gallery please?

hey!
i´m new on wordpress and i really don´t like the media gallery. yes, it saves a lot of space on the page, but sometimes i want the photos to be in the main focus of the post, means i want them to be separate from each other – one photo in one row a column which is not possible with a media gallery.
the problem is, that all the photos i upload are automatically in a gallery, only if i click “show” and “insert into post” on every single photo in the gallery the photo appears separate from the other photos.
i don´t really know how to explain it, i hope you know what i mean.
my question: is there any possibility to post pictures without the gallery in a faster way than this “show – insert into post” thing i tried, cause it´s really tiring.

and why is my username visible although i have another display name?! what´s the use if it appears on this forum? everyone could see my question and username here, then click on my blog and knows my display name. so the display name is kind of useless isn´t it?

The username that displays on this forum is always the original name, not any additional nickname, in order to keep track of just who said what. It’s an anti-drama measure. Most of the people who read your blog and see your nickname won’t see you in the forum.

yeeah…but it works the other way round so they could at least disable the link to go to my blog….whatever, it was kind of a rhetorical question since i won´t be able to change anything about it, but thank you anyway ;o)
do you also know the solution of my media gallery problem? that would help me a lot!

Upload the image, edit what you want, and then click on “Insert into post”. For more image repeat
If the image is already uploaded you must ride the tired path. -

You don’t HAVE to use the gallery. Just insert them one at a time as explained here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/ .
By the way, the support pages here are full of incredibly useful information covering just about anything to do with using wordpress.COM. If found the above link by searching for “images” without the quote marks.

Not correct. Switch your editor to HTML and write the gallery shortcode this way:
[gallery columns="1" size="full"]

The above suggestion is the easiest, just as long as you’re cool with your “full” size thumbnails linking to another page with the same image and a link to the actual full size photo, if you’ve uploaded it at larger than the width of your present theme.
For the most economic use of your free space, make sure you resize and optimize your images before uploading them to your blog.

I have a problem similar to this-
I like having a large image as a header to each post, but then a gallery of related pictures at the end- is there a way to remove my header picture from the gallery so it isn’t duplicated? Or is the gallery only able to pull all the images on the page without being able to specify? -

You add the “exclude” option to the gallery shortcode. See here:
