No more posterous import?
-
I can’t see the posterous import tool as shown in the importing from posterous page. Is there still a way to import posterous blogs?
Thanks

I don’t see the posterous importer under the tools option. The option was showing yesterday but it’s not there today.

We have had to temporarily disable the importer while we repair an issue with it. It will return shortly, sorry for the trouble!

I assume commenting here and checking “Notify me of followup posts via e-mail” is all that’s required to receive notification with the feature has been re-enabled?
I had the same issue with my blog (agilous2.wordpress.com) but the post I made seems to have disappeared.
Thanks WordPress.com. Despite this nagging issue I remain of big fan of WordPress and the community that supports it. Keep up the great work.

I hope the importer is fixed soon, we may have to re-import our blog, since we’ve had problems with it the last couple of times we tried.

I really need to move my old blog from Posterous to WordPress. Please let us all know when you’ve fixed the importer so we can all get the heck away from Posterous!

Please become aware of the issues at the Posterous end of things in case you did not explore that prior to posting here. This thread will be updated by Staff when they can provide an update.

^I feared this might be the case. Posterous development has pretty much halted and the new ownership (Twitter) probably aren’t in any hurry to facilitate users shipping their content elsewhere. Annoying, but PFTC considering Twitter’s restrictive API limits and 3rd party app policies.
In the meantime, I’d recommend posting the location of your new WP blog and RSS feed on Posterous so people who follow you there can switch over to WP and moving on.

Thanks for updating this function.
And could you guys please import FULL RES pictures from posterous? Because the wordpress plugin (at wordpress.org) doesn’t and it makes no sense.
If you guys could also import video and audio, that would be great too. Most of my posts are audio and video so the posterous import plugin at wordpress.org doesn’t help much. (it only links to posterous for video and audio)
Thank you so much.
