No more search terms on my blog
-
Hi everyone,
I’m pretty new in blogging but my blog was going better and better since a week ago. My hits are precipitated almost to zero and this happens because nobody seems to find my posts on the web (neither do I). Only the WP tags work. I have read all posts, forums and discussions on WP & search engines, and I tried to manage the problem manually adding my site, for example, in google. Nothing has changed, but I read something about “duplicate content penalty” for blogs WordPress. Can be this the problem? It seems that search engines find me through pages tags by WP. I know that I can’t use meta tags, and that can not load a site map on the blog. What can be done? I’m disconsolate.
Thanks. -
It can take up to 4-6 weeks for Google to crawl a new site although it typically happens quicker than that. Here are some links that may help you out:

Thanks, I’ve already read all the links you suggest me, but my site is no more “new” and it has worked very well till a week ago. Something changed and all my attempts to improve my condition failed. I know that crawlers work slowly, and, in fact, in the beginnig I was not worried about my few hits. But now it seems like my blog deasappered completely and I was wondering if I did something wrong or my post are seen by the crawl only through the WP tag pages. In this case, I could decide not to use tags anymore.

Tags and categories are crawled by the search engines both on your blog and in the global tags pages, so that should not be it.
All I can suggest at this point is to contact support.

Thanks again thesacredpath, I will wait a little more and then I will contact support if nothing will change.
Still disconsolate! ;) -
There’s nothing wrong with your blog, and no reason on our side that would prevent search engines from indexing it.
We don’t know or control how Google ranks blogs. They have plenty of good information for authors:

Thank you tellyworth, the faq you suggest me is the first I’ve read, that’s why I didn’t contact support. What I’m trying to understand is if I did something wrong in using WP.
An example: recently I created a page with a list of my posts sort by alphabetic order (my blog is on food and I would like to have a simple index of my recipes). You can have a look here: http://pewalkabout.wordpress.com. In your opinion could this page have changed crawling on my blog?
Sorry if I look so pedantic. I’m reading a lot about what I can do on google informations on webmaster but I can’t find a solution. -
Hi,
I finally discoverd why my blog is not seen by google. The problem is the file robot.txt, that disallow search engine to make a crawl on my blog. I’ve read several dicussion on it:

https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=17593&replies=5
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=23567&replies=6
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=23511&replies=5
…and found much more with the word “robots” in faq search. Now I’m really asking myself… What can I do if I can’t change my robots txt? I beg your pardon tellyworth, probably you know about that since you gave answers about this in some of those dicussion. Really WP use this system to light the traffic on its servers?
