    slow load time and only loading 1/3 of the assets ?

    Hey there,

    Happy to help you with this.

    Currently, wwengel.com isn’t hosted with with WordPress.com, so we can’t see under the hood or inside of the site.

    But, I can take a fairly accurate guess as to why it’s loading slowly based on information provided by inspector tools.

    It looks like theme is unable to load Google Sharing buttons, which are producing a 503 error.

    A 503 error, means that the server can’t load these elements or functionality because Google Plus no longer exists and the theme has not been updated in more than 2 years. This error will happen for each article that’s being loaded.

    I also noticed there’s no SSL certificate, which is generally not best practice.

    I’m really curious, based on the theme, would a rebuild on WordPress.com to solve the issues you’ve faced be of interest. We provide an SSL certificate free of charge, themes are kept up to date and social sharing is built in.

    If yes, I’d love to guide you through the process. It can be done in a way as to not damage the current live site.
