No new parent page appearing in dropdown
-
I’ve created a new parent page and made it private until I have the child pages/subpages created, but now I can’t make the new subpages have a parent page.
I created the new parent page, and in the dropdown menu for the attributes, I selected “Main Page/No Parent.” I then published it as private. I can view this parent page just fine.
I created a second new page, which I intended to be a subpage of the new parent page, and when I went to the dropdown menu, I only had two choices, “About” and “Main Page/No Parent.” The new page that I had created did not appear in the dropdown menu. I assume that I’m creating the parent page incorrectly, but I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. In the meantime, I saved a draft of the future subpage. (I do have an “About” page, but I don’t want that to be the parent page.)
Thank you for any help!

Will you please post the URL for the blog to which you are referring, starting with http://

It’s irrelevant to the question, as far as I can tell, since you can’t see the parent page, only the blog and the about page. http://mmadfan.wordpress.com/
Got a magic answer now? :)

Figured it out on my own — a parent page can’t be “private,” or it doesn’t show up in the dropdown box. Did a test page that wasn’t private, and voila! There it was in my dropdown box. That answers my question! :)
