No notification for schedule blog posts
-
Hello!
I’m sure someone can tell me what I am doing incorrectly! And apologies in advance if this has been asked before, I did a rather long search and couldn’t find anything.
I always write my weekly piece on my computer on the weekend, then when it’s just about finished, post it and schedule it for the same time each week. During the intervening days, I’ll post pictures, work on the story, and make it ready for publication. I always have my post set to go at 6:30 a.m. on the same day, and since I subscribed, I too receive the email that it’s been posted.
This past week, it was around 10:30 when I remembered I hadn’t seen an email. I logged in, it HAD been posted, I just hadn’t received notification. Once I logged in and went to the page, I miraculously received the email. What am I doing wrong–should I not be editing my work online? Should I just post a final version of my story? I like to have my readers have my blog post when they open their email in the morning! :-))
Many thanks in advance!
Cheers!

Hi Chris. This might answer your question:

Hi Airodyssey! Thank for the link! So, if I’m reading this correctly, I have to log in in order for the scheduled blog post to go live, right? Or someone has to visit my blog? But doesn’t this sort of defeat the purpose of scheduling a post? Or maybe I’m totally misunderstanding it. But checking in makes sense, as this has happened before.
Thank you again!

It makes perfect sense to me. After all, “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” :-)
