No Notification for User Request on my Private Blog

  I set-up a private blog for students at http://f2.ee

  My students are creating wordpress accounts.

  My idea is to have my students:

  1. Create WordPress Account
  2. Request Access to my private blog
  3. Grant permission to view blog
  4. Change their permission so they can be authors

  One of my students created a wordpress account and requested access twice to view the blog, but I never received any notification.

  1. How am I notified?
  2. How long does it take for the notification?
  3. Is anyone able to verify that everything is set-up correctly for me to receive requests for people that request access to my private blog?
