no one can find my blog
-
I’ve spent a half dozen hours creating my blog space of 12 pages. After I was finished, I did searchs on “rainworks”, (Google and Yahoo) there seems to be dozens of sites using that name but mine does not pop up. I even searched “rainworks.wordpress.com”, and still I didn’t show up.
I did start with using 12 Pages instead of 12 Posts due to the navigation Tabs. Posts do not show my other resources, why not?
I feel I made a big mistake and wasted my time. I have my own Web site created in Dreamweaver and hosted on Yahoo, that was a piece of cake. Why the difference?

A brand new blog won’t appear in Google or Yahoo searches. It takes a few days at least, sometimes longer.
This will show you when you’re indexed by Google:

If your blog is PAGES and not posts, you are really shooting yourself in the foot if you want visibility in search engines. There are just too many reasons to go into here, but do trust me, pages tell google “go away, nothing happening here” no matter HOW many pages you make. Posts say “yo, check this out, and come back later because there will be more here.
You can read about some of the differences between pages and posts here:
http://support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/WordPress.com is a blogging platform, not a website building platform, although you can use it to build one. Blogs vastly outrank ordinary websites in SEO terms, which is why major organizations are hiring people to blog for them; so they can dominate google again.

Also, if you blog in pages, wordpress does not ping the search engines to let them know you have posted something. They only ping the search engines when you publish posts.
