Firstly, you cannot use Google adsense on a WordPress.com blog that would be against the terms of service that you agreed to (no user initiated advertising): http://en.wordpress.com/tos/

You may, if you buy a custom domain, apply for Wordads, and make some money, but you won’t make all that much, and you’ll need thousands of views a day to recoup the cost of the domain.

Secondly, on wordpress.COM you aren’t allowed to install plugins, as we don’t have access to FTP. If you would like plugins you should consider a wordpress.ORG self-hosted site, where you can add plugins.

    Hi,

I did not mean adsense. I want to install google analytics to my blog to measure all the traffic since google analytics is the most powerful analytic tool in the market. I saw some tutorials and assume that previously the plugin button was available… how should i proceed now?

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    GM

My apologises, but the same applies, google analytics can’t be installed either. The code will be automatically stripped wherever you put it. WordPress already has it’s own, very good, stats page, which you should see here: http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/

The plugin button is only for wordpress.ORG blogs, and most tutorials are about the .ORG platform, hence the confusion. You should always make sure the tutorial is referring to wordpress.COM blogs, otherwise it is irrelevant, as both platforms are quite different in terms of what you an and can’t do.
