No plugin menu option on my screen

There is no plugin option for me on my admin panel. I bought a domain name and am set up with Go Daddy web hosting which I thought was all I needed to do to get a plugin option. Why isn’t this showing up? Can anyone help…it’s so frustrating.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

@beanny32, plugins cannot be used at wordpress.COM for security reasons. Plugins are for self-hosted wordpress sites using the software from wordpress.ORG.
@audreyquaye, we cannot edit the underlying theme files here at wordpress.COM. This is a multi-user platform which means we all share the same underlying theme and wordpress files. Any change by one person would change it for everyone using that theme. In addition, the themes for wordpress aren’t HTML. The are PHP script (with a little HTML here and there).
The difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org (self-hosted) sites.

Thank you! So how can I insert my Go mobile code?
Also, when I submitted my URl to Google and Bing, it was suggested that I submit the Site map for the website — how can I do this.

Go to appearance > mobile in your dashboard and enable the mobile theme. It is pretty bare bones, but I’ve yet to fine a mobile that it doesn’t work on. You can also, on that page, set it so that your main page will show excerpts on a mobile instead of the entire post which is also a nice feature.
You can also filter the themes at http://theme/wordpress.com/themes for “responsive” designs which are designed to adjust for all screen sizes.

Oh and on the sitemap. All wordpress.com blogs that are full public (top selection at settings > privacy) have an automatically generated sitemap. Yours would be:

Thanks so much. I ended up ditching Go Daddy and did the 1 step install with Dream host. So now I have the site but have so much more to learn. Anyone know of a book or good way to learn how to use WordPress. I find even what sounds simple tasks takes me hours to figure out how to do toactually get it to work.

For self-hosted sites such as yours, the correct forum is at http://wordpress.ORG/support/ . You will find a good bit of information in the “docs” over there (codex) and I’m sure there are others that will have some suggestions. If fact you might want to search the forums over there for things like “beginner” and other terms to see what has already been offered. The problem with books on wordpress and some of the other web software is that the software version development cycles are so short that no one can keep up with them.
I wish I had better answers for you.

If you just page back in the WordPress.ORG forums you should find most of your questions have been ask and answered in the last week or so – that was how I learned over there and then over here when I set up a blog here. Saved a lot of trouble and frustrations by not needing to wait for a reply in the forums.
