No plugins for GoDaddy hosted WordPress Blog

    Hi,
I’m trying to set-up a wordpress blog. My domain, beinganimals.com, is hosted with GoDaddy. I installed WordPress via GoDaddy, then turned on Domain Mapping via WordPress.com (didn’t see how to access my blog through .org).

The problem is that the plugins functionality is not appearing in my dashboard. My objective is to design my site with Scroll Kit, but that is a plugin. I called GoDaddy and they suggested reinstalling WordPress, which I did, but the same problem remains.

    Please help! Thanks,
    Robby

  • Hi,

WordPress.com is the fully-hosted “flavor” of WordPress, for folks who don’t want to handle any of the technical aspects of running a site.

Your site is using the free WordPress.org software. More about the difference can be found at WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

It appears you changed your nameservers on your domain with GoDaddy to the ones for WordPress.com. They should remain what they were before. If you’re not sure what the previous nameservers were or need help changing them, I’m afraid you have to go back to GoDaddy’s support to ask for help with that.

Once the nameservers have been pointed back to your account with GoDaddy, you should be able to access your site’s dashboard at http://beinganimals.com/wp-admin

    Cheers!
