NO Plugins in my Dashboard.

I went ahead and purchased the 99 Dollar upgrade, yet I have no plugins in my Dash board. I’m not really Quite sure how to get it there. I’d like to use some of the plugins.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry you did not read this first: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org: The Differences
There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins or third party themes into them. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

If you wish to have complete control over a blog, the ability to upload themes and plugins, and to edit themes and templates then your option is to hire a web host and get a free software install from WordPress.ORG and self host it.

What is it that you wanted the plugin for please? We have many widgets that can be used on free hosted WordPress.com blogs and there are also workarounds we can share for some things.

I think you also ought to read this as well as there is no upgrade that you can purchase that changes the fact your blog will still be free hosted by WordPress.com and the ToS still applies to all free hosted WordPress.com blogs. There is no upgrade that provides FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

Wow, this is really awesome information!!! Thank you for taking the time to help me, it is greatly appreciated!

I’m not sure if it was a plugin or not however, I’m trying to add a Logon/ Sign Up, section in the upper right hand corner. I’m not literate as to what this is called so am not exactly sure how to ask.

I think adding user registration, log in log out portal.

Does that make sense?

That makes sense, but it’s not available at WordPress.com.

What you can do is make a Contact Form and have people apply through that; this will give you their email address, and then you can use the Invite users function from your Dashboard under Users.

Hi – If I want to add a “Pin It on Pinterest” plugin do I need to migrate to WordPress.org?

If you specifically want that plugin then yes.

If you just want to add a Share to Pinterest button, no. Just add it under your Sharing options.

That’s great, thanks v much. But… I don’t seem to be able to create the right URL to be able to Pin To Pinterest as the Pinterest goodie uses Javascript.

Does anyone know the right URL for Pinterest?

@lucindaleo: At the moment, you can only add a Pinterest “Follow me” button, not the “Pin it” button.

Please please wordpress.com, add the “Pin It” button service in Share soon. The Sharing URL instructions don’t work for Pinterest’s Pin It. Pinterest is growing like gangbusters and it would be sad for wordpress blogs to miss out on being able to suggest that our readers pin our images so we can get visibility at Pinterest. Unless, we want to migrate to .org.
