  • Hi there. This is controlled by Facebook, so there’s not very much you can do on your blog’s end.

I see you have featured images and custom headers on your site, so the Facebook preview should be displaying something. You can try clearing your Facebook cache and see if that makes any difference: https://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-image-thumbnail/#image-thumbnail-problems-faq

Otherwise, consider posting the image and link to Facebook manually. That way you’ll have complete control over it, and Facebook is more likely to show your post in other people’s feeds than if you auto-post via Publicize.

  • P.S. I just shared your blog on Facebook with a friend who lives in Jordan and it also didn’t show an image, so I definitely think this is a Facebook cache issue – I’ve seen this before and flushing the cache fixed it.

    Hi Kokkieh,

    Thank you for your answer.
I had tried flushing the cache already, but it didn’t seem to malke a difference. When i click on fetch new scrape information, there is still no image that appears.
Also, I only add the link manually to facebook, and that doesn’t seem to work.

i am wondering if it is because there are 4 images that rotate in the header and so it chooses none. if I paste manually the link to a blog post (and not the homepage) then a preview image is inserted correctly.
Do you know if the rotating images is an issue for facebook ?

  • I checked again, and if I share your home page link it doesn’t show an image on FB, but if I share an individual post it does. Is that what you’re experiencing? I don’t know if the rotating header is the issue, but that explanation makes sense to me: on single posts Facebook can fetch an image from the post content; on the home page it can’t.

The only other suggestion I have is to upload a blavatar. The Blavatar functions as your site’s favicon in people’s browsers, but it’s also the default image Facebook uses if it can’t find another suitable image on a site. You upload the blavatar under Settings ->General in the WP-Admin dashboard: https://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/blavatars/ Make sure the image is at least 200×200 pixels, or Facebook won’t be able to use it.
