no privacy option

I want to hide my site as I’m not fully ready to delete it, as I’m building a new site and need to cross reference content. WordPress however gives me only two options; public and hidden. This is contrary to what your tutorials show. Please advise how I can hide the site fully

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,
dadianiandpartners.com is a self hosted WordPress.org site rather than a WordPress.com site. There is some information about the differences between the two in this guide:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

These forums are where we provide support for WordPress.com sites hosted on WordPress.com servers. The good news is, help for WordPress.org sites is available here:

    https://wordpress.org/support/

If the information you need isn’t already there, you can start a new topic.

Best of luck getting this sorted!

  • Hi there,

To add to that, self-hosted WordPress sites don’t have an option to set it to private. Instead you’ll need a plugin like WP Maintenance Mode to hide your site from view while you’re working on it.
