No public comment section?

  I cant figure out how to have a public comment section on my blog? I provided a comment box in my first post, and received over 10 emails about readers leaving comments… but where are they? I’ve gone to Settings > Discussion and comments are enabled… I want to fix this before I post again. Thanks for the help.
