No rank on Alexa
-
When I look at Alexa I get no rank, no data for my website even though Alexa has crawled it many times. When I check the site ip address it shows up as 72.233.2.58 which is odd because that just brings you to the wordpress main page. How do I get Alexa to see my site, and why is the ip address wordpress’s main page? I know it’s hosted at wordpress, but shouldn’t my site that I paid for hosting have it’s own unique ip address?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You are not paying for hosting. You purchased domain mapping. You still have a free blog from wordpress.com that’s being free hosted for wordpress.com. It’s address is it’s URL.
If you want your domain’s metrics to be on Alexa then simply claim your site there.

Quite honestly, NOBODY pays attention to Alexa anymore. It’s quite inaccurate and irrelevant.

if you list the site here, we can easily check and find out a solution for your problem.

And thanks for the help. I was going to just host my site through godaddy, but while I am very familiar with coding in html and javascript, I never bothered with WordPress over the years and the book just looked so tedious. This was easier.

While we’re on that topic, are there hosting companies that manage the WordPress like wordpress itself does that are paid so I can ad ads, shopping cart stuff, etc?

<blockquoteWhile we’re on that topic, are there hosting companies that manage the WordPress like wordpress itself does that are paid so I can ad ads, shopping cart stuff, etc?The answer is ‘yes”. If you hire a web host and then get a free software download from wordpress.ORG you can do all of those things. The details are here > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
P.S. Simply posting your URL above will not result in having your site with Alexa. If that’s what you want you will have to go to the site and list it there.
