No Re-Blog Notification

Hi,
I discovered yesterday that someone had re-blogged one of my posts but I did not get a notification of this, nor did a re-blog ‘comment’ come up on the post in question.
The only reason I know it was re-blogged is because the re-blogger also ‘liked’ the post and whenever someone new likes my posts, I click through to their blog to check it out. Mine was the first (and only…) post on said blog.
I don’t know if this is the only time that one of my posts has been re-blogged or if there are other secret re-blogged posts out there that I just haven’t been notified about!
I appreciate people liking my work enough to share it, so don’t mind people re-blogging my posts, I would just like to know about it when they do.

Thanks for your quick response.
I don’t get emails for any of those things as I found it a bit annoying having my inbox clogged up when I can just check directly on my blog for any comments, ‘likes’ etc.
I would just like a notification on WordPress and a ‘comment’ on the post, which is how I understood it should work from reading the help section about re-blogging.
At present, there is absolutely no record of my post having been re-blogged and I just happened upon it by chance.

Sorry if I’m not making much sense! I don’t want an EMAIL notification, just a notification in my WordPress account.
I don’t have any of those boxes ticked and I still get a little speech bubble when someone comments, star when someone likes etc. and I thought I got a notification for reblogs this same way.
I am referring to the explanation given on the reblogging support section that reads:
“What happens when my posts get reblogged?An excerpt of your post will be published on the reblogger’s site (with a link back to your original post), and you’ll receive a reblog notification in the post comments (you might need to approve it first):
Then there’s a little screencap of a comment that says, “Reblogged this on Matt Thomas…”
Does that notification only work if they comment as well when they reblog? I understood that it should always show on my post and therefore, I would get a ‘comment’ notification when I logged in to WordPress.

I was just going to link to that page, because you should receive a comment even if your notifications are turned off. I did look at your original banana cupcakes post and didn’t see any mention of a reblog.
By chance did you check your notifications to see if it is there?

Thanks birdingbunch. I did check my notifications and the ‘like’ from the reblogger is showing up but no reblog/comment. I clicked on the reblog tab on the side and just got that little ‘thinking wheel’ for ages, so maybe there is actually a problem with reblogs on my account?! All the other tabs showed results straight away when clicked. So confused!

It is possible that the notification comment was marked as spam. Do you clear out your spam queue often? It’s currently empty.

Yes, I do clean out my spam frequently but I only get 4-5 spams a week (max), so I do check each one. None of them were reblog comments. =/

Hm, I can’t find any other causes for this, so I’m going to guess that this was a temporary glitch. If it happens again, would you please let us know?

Okay, not to worry. If I come across it again, I’ll let you know but I guess the problem is I won’t know about it unless I happen upon it by chance again!
Ah well, it’s not the end of the world – I was just confused, really.
