No Reading tab in settings
-
What I am trying to achieve is to have a static home page (done) with a menu link to a separate blog page (not done). I keep reading that I need to go to Settings > Reading but in the settings page the only options I have are general, writing, discussion and traffic. Can anybody help? I am using Radcliffe 2 if that makes a difference.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi noonefitness
To get the reading tab you need to use the url :
https://noonefitness.wordpress.com/wp-admin/After going to above URL wp admin dashboard will be in front of you.
Now on the left-hand side, you will find the settings tab, click on the settings tab.You will be getting some tabs under the setting tabs there you will be able to get the reading tab.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask

Hi
What I am trying to achieve is to have a static home page (done) with a menu link to a separate blog page (not done).
– i think you want to achieve the static home page and separate blog page along with that you might need the custom menu. I am attaching some guide for how you can add static page and how to add custom menu:

Ok thanks for the quick answer. I now have another issue though:
I have created a new tab in the primary menu which I have called Blog. If I go to my main site and click on that Blog tab the URL it directs to is https://noonefitness.com/blog-2/ whereas my posts are actually going to https://noonefitness.com/blog . How to I change the setting so that the main menu tab takes me to the correct blog page?

Hi noonefitness
How do I change the setting so that the main menu tab takes me to the correct blog page?
– Just want to confirm some points from you:
Have you created the custom link on the blog menu tab?
or You have added a blog page to the menu. please let me know so that i can provide you the exact solution for this. -
I haven’t added a blog page to the menu, I’ve just added a link to the home page menu. However, the link doesn’t take me to the right page – it takes me to https://noonefitness.com/blog-2/ instead of https://noonefitness.com/blog which is where I can see the blog post that I made a start on.

Hi there
Can you please check the custom link you have added for blog menu as its showing the same link in codes thats why the menu is redirecting to that url.
Steps to check the link
1. Go to mysites
2. Click on customize
3. Clixk on menu
4. Select the header menu or primary menu whats ever that you have choosen .
5. Click on menu item blog
6. You will get the feild detaisl there you need go check the link you have entered. If you have entered …./blog-2 then please change it to …./blog
Please check once and let me know if that was the only thing because of which you were facing issue.

I’ve followed steps 1-5 but when I click on menu item blog I don’t get a field that tells me the URL it is directing it to. All I get is Navigation Label, Title Attribute, CSS Classes, Link Relationship, Description.

Hi
Then I think the Blog menu item is not the custom link you have added a blog item as page.
You can check that. When you are on step 5 that i mention above before clicking on the item blog there will be the item type on right-hand side to the menu item name. If that is page not custom link then you need to check the page url that can be done as follow
Go to my sites
Click on Sites Pages
Edit your blog page
Then you can edit the url for that page. Please confirm once you follow this.
Hope this helps

You were right – I had added the menu item as page rather than custom link. It is now working as I originally wanted it to.
You’ve been very helpful. Thank you so much.
