Hi, I am trying to change my Blog into a website, despite following th e online instructions I still keep getting a blog. I registered for the 14 day trial have now lost three days as WordPress support has not answered. Is this indicative of heir level of service? When I first registered there was a live chat function which seems to have gone??
I think it’s time to go back to Webflow…..
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A blog is a website.
A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.
What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds, and as others do not backlink to pages, it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.
Any WordPress blog can be restructured from being post based to being page based – no upgrade required. For greater clarity read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/
Here’s a link to my step by step post too http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/07/25/create-a-wordpress-website-step-by-step/

Thank you – I completely understand what a blog is and a website. My issue is that I am trying to set my static page to a home page – and it isn’t working – I have followed the instructions to the letter. I am aware that the issue is probably user error, which is adding to my frustration. I am also aware that there is no phone support my issue is that I have sent the same issue to through the support contact form three times and they have not contacted me.
Thank you for your step by step link, which I will try. My real issue is the complete lack of follow-through from the support centre, I am experimenting with WordPress as so many people rave about it, I am unconvinced.
Once again thank you so much for taking the time to post the links, I am crossing my fingers that this resolves my issue and I become an advocate!

Hi there,
I see that Gary replied to your previous support request via email. Sorry for the delay with that reply — when you contact us repeatedly after your initial request for help, it pushes your request back in the queue and takes longer for our team to see it.
It looks like you’re on your way to getting things set up, so please let me know if I can do anything more to help!

hank you Rachel, yes Gary has been most helpful and I am hopeful that this is just a false start and I will be flying by the end of the weekend.
Thank you all for your help.
