No RSS Feed

I recently went self-hosted with SiteGround, but use WordPress as the building blocks of my site. I cannot find my site feed, which means none of my posts are showing up in my followers’ ‘followed sites’ reader.

Going to hailandwellread.com/feed gives me a ‘page not found’ error, and both Jetpack and SiteGround have been unable to figure this out. Since the WP support page on feeds says ‘Your feeds are created automatically unless you mark your blog as private,’ I really need help, because it seems a feed was NOT created.

If it affects anything, the original blog that hailandwellread is migrated from still exists (wordsgremlin.wordpress.com), and is a free wordpress.com site.

Please do not tell me how to display an RSS feed, because I understand how the widget works. What I need is to find out how to establish a feed in the first place, and how to get it working in my followers’ readers again.

UPDATE: I found my feed at https://hailandwellread.com/index.php/feed/

However, I still don’t know how to make sure that the WordPress reader picks up on this feed and puts it into my followers’ readers.

  • Hi there!

Any WordPress.com user who follows your site will start to see your posts in their Reader when your site is connected through Jetpack.

However, if you don’t have a paid Jetpack plan, your posts will not be displayed on Tag pages or Posts search results in the Reader.

That being said, your site does appear in the site search results:

If you have more doubts, I’d suggest posting to https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/ as these forums are only for sites hosted on WordPress.com
    – we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere.
