No RSS option in Tools>Import

  Trying to import my godaddy quickblogcast to wordpress. Was told to import using RSS Feed. Copied godaddy blog via rss feed ok, ready to import to wordpress. There is no RSS Feed option in the Dashboard>Tools>Import . Saw a copy online of that page with the lists of options (Blogger, Blogroll, etc.) and it included RSS option, but it is not on my list of options. ????

  I found this article about importing GoDaddy’s “Quick Blogcast” content – is this what you are referring to?

  The RSS method of importing content mentioned here http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/5046/export-quickblogcast-to-wordpress is indeed a method for importing content into self-hosted WordPress sites, as timethief mentioned above, not WordPress.com sites.

  A workaround would be to set up a self-hosted WordPress site, import your GoDaddy content, and then generate a WordPress XML file that you can import here on WordPress.com.

  If we develop an importer to bring GoDaddy Quick Blogcast content directly into WordPress.com we’ll let you know here.

  It exists on WordPress.ORG installs.
  This is WordPress.COM.

  The only way you can import content into a free blog provided by and free hosted by WordPress.COM is by having an XML file to upload. http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and different http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  I see what you’re saying. Since I’ve set up my workpress as wordpress.com, the rss option isn’t available. I’ve set up the wordpress.com site until I transfer the blog over, then I will convert it to self-hosted. Since organicgardenworks.com is currently hosted on godaddy, I figured I would have to import it to wordpress, end the godaddy site, then change the wordpress to organicgardenworks.com. They can’t be two domains hosted at the same time.

  Unfortunately GoDaddy did not provide a WordPress.com compatible export. We are currently working on a GoDaddy importer tool, and will announce it on http://en.blog.wordpress.com/ when it’s ready.
